Amy Chaiklin paints exotic and sensuous images of mythology, gardens, patterns & goddesses. The women in her paintings depict the delicate, the beautiful, the bitter, the sweet, and the strong. Exploring female mythology and fairy tales, Chaiklin depicts imagery of woman as angels, mermaids, and butterflies imbuing them with the roles of friend, lover, mother, and muse. Through fluid lines and clear vivid hues these multifaceted paintings express the feminine energy of color. The hyper-colored canvases pulse with women that are looking straight at the viewer, everything on display, as they dance, kiss, embrace, suffer, love, cry, create, destroy, and fly.
